‘Why Not Sue Them Now?’: Chuck Todd Presses Conway On Trump’s Post-Election Threat to Accusers
During an appearance on Meet the Press this morning, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway was pushed by host Chuck Todd on Donald Trump’s threat to sue all of his female accusers, but only after the election.
Todd first wanted to know why, if Trump is supposedly going to focus on the issues down the stretch in this election, he decided to issue the threat in yesterday’s Gettysburg speech. Conway felt that it was unfair that Todd was only targeting one small part of the speech, but the MTP host continued to press on with this questioning.
“But he didn’t speak about that,” Todd told Conway when she said Trump spoke about voters’ concerns. “He instead focused on himself. He instead talked about the allegations. He instead brought it up.”
Once again, Conway complained about Todd only focusing on that small part of the speech, leading the anchor to wonder why he’s going to wait until after the election.
“He is threatening a lawsuit to all these women,” Todd exclaimed. “Why not sue them now? Why wait until after the election?”
Conway explained that he’s focused first on running for the presidency and then pivoted to talking about how Trump made a very substantive speech.
