Wolf Blitzer: So Is Trump Going to Invite Alan Dershowitz to Join His Legal Team?
Alan Dershowitz‘s recent commentary on the Mueller probe has been publicly touted by President Trump, and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer wonders when Dershowitz is going to just join the President’s legal team.
Yesterday Dershowitz slammed the media for pushing speculation that Trump wants Mueller fired, and the President sent out a two-tweet-long quote from Dershowitz this morning:
“Special Council is told to find crimes, whether a crime exists or not. I was opposed to the selection of Mueller to be Special Council. I am still opposed to it. I think President Trump was right when he said there never should have been a Special Council appointed because…..

…there was no probable cause for believing that there was any crime, collusion or otherwise, or obstruction of justice!” So stated by Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz.

And then, of course, there’s this tweet from last December:
A must watch: Legal Scholar Alan Dershowitz was just on @foxandfriends talking of what is going on with respect to the greatest Witch Hunt in U.S. political history. Enjoy!

Blitzer brought up today’s tweets in a discussion with Dana Bash and David Gregory about Trump’s attacks on Mueller.
Bash said rather than just demanding Mueller be fired, the President is “trying to whip up” Republicans and “muddying the waters.”
Blitzer ended the segment by saying, “As soon as I saw that tweet this morning from the President quoting Alan Dershowitz, I said to myself, ‘I wonder if the President’s going to invite Alan Dershowitz to join his legal team.'”
Bash said, “It’s kind of amazing that he hasn’t already.”
