Women for Trump Founder Justifies Rocks as Rifles Policy With Bible Story: Remember David and Goliath?
Though President Donald Trump drew shock and outrage over his instructions to the U.S. military to equate rock throwing with gunfire at the border, essentially giving troops the green light to shoot migrants if they toss stones, one of the commander in chief’s major supporters defended the policy with a story from the Bible.
In a Thursday evening panel discussion with CNN’s Chris Cuomo and former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum, Women for Trump co-founder Amy Kremer cited the tale of David and Goliath to support the president’s controversial remarks.
“The president said that trying to discourage,” she said. “Remember the story of David and Goliath? It was a stone.”
Cuomo, however, contended that Trump’s real intention was “to put hate in people’s hearts” and “remind people these people are not worth the same decency we would give to people in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
But Kremer’s excuses for Trump didn’t stop there. She also argued the key component of the infamous 9/11 terror attacks was a box cutter, calling it “the weapon they used to fly those airplanes into the buildings.”
But those points didn’t play well with Cuomo, who was visibly angered.
“Throwing rocks doesn’t get you shot by the U.S. military,” he said. “They have honor and integrity with their rules of engagement.”
