‘You’re Being Delusional’: The View Goes Off the Rails During Discussion with Kellyanne Conway
Wednesday’s episode of The View pitted Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway against pretty much everybody else in the room, and neither side was letting up.
As Conway discussed a new ABC poll showing Trump with a slight edge over Hillary Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg challenged her by asking whether the mogul thinks the polls are still rigged now that he’s ahead. After Conway fended off the matter of the media being “crooked,” she said that Trump himself would be happy to appear on the show once he wins the election.
Goldberg said she couldn’t care less if Trump came on, reminding Conway that he’s “been very nasty about people I care about.” The discussion eventually moved on to James Comey‘s letter, and Conway’s opinion that the former secretary of state has “no aspiration or uplifting message” with her negative campaign against Trump.
Later on, Joy Behar stepped up to the plate, and challenged Conway over Trump’s “off the wall” rhetoric and his “cavalier” attitude towards nuclear weapons. As they sparred over the merits of Trump’s past statements, Behar eventually told Conway to her face “I like you, but I think, right here, you’re being delusional.”
Conway’s retort was that Clinton is only out for herself, while Trump was able to create a movement no matter the controversial rhetoric he’s been associated with.
The discussion continued on to matters such as Melania Trump‘s upcoming speech, and Trump’s use of Chinese steel in his real estate business. When Conway was asked if Trump has ever taken money from Russia, her answer of “that’s what he told me,” drew skepticism from literally everybody in the room.
