You’re Fired: NBC Cuts Ties with Trump After Latino Comments
NBC/Universal announced Monday it was cutting ties with celebrity plutocrat and GOP presidential contender Donald Trump after comments he made about Mexico and immigrants during a rambling and semi-improvised presidential announcement two weeks ago:

“We have drug dealers coming across, we have rapists, we have killers, we have murderers. I mean it’s common sense,” Trump reiterated to MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt. “Do you think they’re going to send us their best people, their finest people? The answer is no.”
The remarks caused Univision to terminate its broadcast of the Miss America pageant, igniting a feud with the pugnacious real estate mogul, and even drew an angry response from the Mexican government. In recent days, Hispanic advocacy groups have called for action from NBC, which was already “reevaluating” Trump’s role at the network due to his nascent presidential campaign.
Trump had led the network’s Celebrity Apprentice for years, and blamed his contract with NBC for precluding a presidential run in 2012.
