‘HOLD THE DATE!’ – Trump Pre-Brags About ‘One of the Biggest Gatherings’ in D.C. History
“HOLD THE DATE!” said President Donald Trump via Twitter on Sunday, teasing his planned “A Salute to America” gathering in Washington, D.C.
The event will be a big Fourth of July celebration and, presumably, rally for his administration and reelection.
HOLD THE DATE! We will be having one of the biggest gatherings in the history of Washington, D.C., on July 4th. It will be called “A Salute To America” and will be held at the Lincoln Memorial. Major fireworks display, entertainment and an address by your favorite President, me!

“Major fireworks display, entertainment and an address” from President Trump are on the docket, he said.
Earlier this month, Trump said he wanted to start the event as a tradition, and that it won’t be just a parade.
“We’re thinking about doing, on the 4th of July or thereabouts, a parade. A ‘Salute to America’ parade,” he aid at the White House two weeks ago. “It will be a — really, a gathering, as opposed to a parade, I’d guess you’d have to say. Perhaps at the Lincoln Memorial.”
Trump has previously floated the idea of a major military parade in D.C.
