An odd story and shocking video out of California, reported by ABC30 in Fresno, is getting a lot of shares on Facebook and was flagged by Raw Story on Thursday. A teacher at University Preparatory, a public high school in Visalia, came into her classroom wielding scissors and began to cut a student’s hair while shout-singing the National Anthem. It would be hard to believe if there weren’t video of it taking place.
Now that teacher, Margaret Gieszinger, is facing criminal charges for child endangerment, and still no one knows exactly what triggered her, or why she did what she did.
In the video, which was shared on ABC30 reporter Christina Fan‘s Facebook page, you can see and hear the confusion in the class as Gieszinger insists the male student sit in the chair. The then proceeds to cut his hair while loudly and badly singing the National Anthem. She cuts some of his hair and tosses it over her shoulder. The video then shows the teacher pursuing other students in the class attempting to cut their hair, waving the scissors at them. Students flee the class in various states of distress as some react with shouts or short screams.
The incident was the second erratic outburst of the week, according to students, who told ABC30 that “on Monday she had another freak out because a test was missing or something. She accused the students of taking the test.”
Even so,
Geiszinger’s bail is set at $100,000.
