Villa’s get-up included a stark white dress with a fetus surrounded by a rainbow painted on it. Additionally, she carried along a white handbag with the words “CHOOSE LIFE” blasted across it — just in case anyone was still unaware of her opinion on abortion.
In a statement to Fox News — which is the network the singer has frequently appeared on — Villa said, “I’m a pro-life woman. This year I chose to make a statement on the red carpet like I always do. I’m all about life.”
Given the recent Women’s March and the rise of the #MeToo movement, Villa’s pro-life outfit might even be more controversial than the red, white, and blue “Make America Great Again” dress
However, her outrageously conservative red carpet appearance might just be her way of gaining back the many fans she has recently lost on the right as her identity as a Scientologist has become more and more known. Villa was widely attacked for her religious views and even allegedly tried to convert White House official Kellyanne Conway and right-wing pundit Milo Yiannopoulos to the cult.
