Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) got a real grilling for Father’s Day weekend for posting and then deleting a photo of himself committing a serious culinary sin. (Was that a dad joke? It definitely was.)
Schumer was simply trying to post a positive, festive post to set aside politics for a day to celebrate dads. The be-tee-shirted politician, outdoors, spatula in hand with a raw burger patty atop, ready to be cooked on a grill similar to many an American backyard. But the blatant photo op earned Schumer a slew of mockery on social media for one element that could simply not be ignored.
