A stunning new poll shows a whopping 71 percent of Americans say President Donald Trump knew about former pal and currently deceased Jeffrey Epstein  sex crimes against underage girls — including a large majority of Trump’s voters — before investigations into the billionaire began.

It now been just over one month since the Trump Justice Department dropped the bombless bomb heard ’round the world when they claimed there actually was no client list, and no “Epstein Files” worth releasing.

While media attention to the story has waned from its peak, new developments continue to grab headlines and prompt strategy sessions in the Trump White House.

At every stage, Trump has fanned the flames even as he attempts to tamp the story down, and critics have accused him of using his police takeover and other issues as a distraction.

The story has also prompted heightened scrutiny of Trump’s past relationship with Epstein, and a flood of unearthed recordings and quotes that critics have circulated to try to paint the president as a longtime sex creep.

According to a new YouGov/The Economist poll, even his

own supporters are willing to believe that he knew what Epstein was up to.

Respondents to the survey were asked “Before investigations into Jeffrey Epstein began, how much do you think Donald Trump knew about sex crimes committed by Epstein against underage girls?”

A total of 71 percent responded that Trump knew “some” or “a lot” about Epstein’s crimes, including a stunning 56 percent of Trump voters.

This poll follows another survey last month in which respondents were asked “Do you think the government is covering up evidence it has about Epstein?”

A full 67 percent of all Americans said “yes” there’s a coverup, with another full quarter “not sure” — meaning 92 percent of Americans were at least open to the idea that the government that Trump runs is covering up evidence on Epstein.

Among Trump voters, 59 percent responded “yes,” with another 29 percent “not sure.”

Media attention may have cooled relative to the story’s peak, but polls show opinions on it have remained hot.
