President Donald Trump quickly boarded Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday with a smaller set of stairs due to increased security around the airport.

Precautions were heightened at the airport on Friday, after Secret Service discovered a raised hunting stand with a direct eye-line to Air Force One.

FBI Director Kash Patel said that the agency was investigating the incident. No individual has yet been identified in connection with the stand.

“Prior to the President’s return to West Palm Beach, the Secret Service discovered what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand within sight line of the Air Force One landing zone,” Patel told Fox News Digital. “No individuals were located at the scene. The FBI has since taken the investigatory lead, flying in resources to collect all evidence from the scene, and deploying our cell phone analytics capabilities.”

Anthony Guglielmi, the Secret Service’s communication chief, confirmed that the service is “working closely” with Palm Beach County law enforcement as well as the FBI.

The discovery of

the hunting platform occurred during advanced security preparations prior to Trump’s arrival, Guglielmi confirmed.

“While we are not able to provide details about the specific items or their intent, this incident underscores the importance of our layered security measures,” said Guglielmi.

President Trump has faced multiple attempts on his life, including the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt and the foiled plot on his Palm Beach golf course in September of 2024.

The perpetrator of that plot, Ryan Routh, was found guilty of attempted assignation and firearms charges last month.
