A fight broke out mid-flight as a passenger jet made its way to China, with shocking video capturing multiple passengers brawling after a man complained a group was being too loud.

The Air Asia flight was headed to China from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday evening. A male passenger reportedly complained that a group of women were being too loud after the lights on the flight were dimmed. Video shows chaos breaking out between the male passenger and multiple other passengers as they exchange blows, and flight attendants attempted to separate the crowd.

The complaining male was seated behind a row of three young women and the brawl occurred approximately halfway through the four-hour trip.

NewsNation correspondent Nick Smith reported on Tuesday’s Morning in America that the man told the women to “quiet down” before the physical fight broke out. The women, he added, were “furious” and “tensions peaked” when the man told them to “shut up,” prompting the women and their mother to get involved.

The footage shows one person in a hat and green outfit leaning over a seat and throwing punches at the passenger who complained. It’s unclear whether anyone was arrested over the incident. Officials at the Airport Public Security Bureau of the Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department reportedly launched an investigation.

“This is ridiculous. What are people doing?” Smith asked as he cracked up before he could finish the

report.

“I’m embarrassed,” NewsNation anchor Markie Martin said after watching the video.

“People don’t know how to behave anymore!” Smith added.

“I wonder too, I’m sure they’re waking up this morning, thinking, ‘I don’t know that all of this is worth that,'” Martin replied.
