Dramatic video shows a group of rescuers working together to move a car off an infant who was involved in a frightening car crash.
CNN’s Omar Jimenez introduced the clip saying, “Dramatic video shows police in Texas rescuing an infant who is pinned beneath an overturned car. And we want to warn you, you may find this footage hard to watch.”
A Fort Worth Police officer wearing a body camera can be heard directing the other rescuers, “Under here. We need to move the car,” before stating, “I think the baby’s under the — keep moving, keep moving, keep moving, go!”
The officer was able to drag the baby out from under the car as it was lifted.
Jimenez continued, “Wow. You just saw witnesses helping to lift the vehicle, allowing officers to pull that child free. The unconscious infant was given CPR and started breathing again. Authorities say the child and a woman were thrown — The woman driver — were thrown from their vehicle after the crash. Last week. They are both expected to make a full recovery, but unbelievable, just seeing that baby pulled out from under there.”
The full video, posted to the Fort Worth Police Department’s social media, showed the officers arriving on scene.

Although this video may be extremely difficult to watch, it is an important example of the kinds of situations that our police officers may come across while
performing their duties.Yesterday morning, October 23, 2025, two of our officers responded to a vehicular collision on I-30 between Eastchase Parkway and Cooks Lane that resulted in the female driver and an infant child being ejected from the vehicle. The infant was pinned beneath the overturned vehicle and was unresponsive. Sgt. R. Nichols (Badge #3590) and Officer E. Bounds (Badge #3521) with help from witnesses to the accident, were able to free the trapped infant. Sgt. Nichols immediately began to perform CPR on the unconscious infant, eventually waking the child and keeping her alive until@fortworthpd arrived on scene. At this time, the woman and infant are in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. We are beyond proud of the life saving actions performed by Sgt. Nichols and Officer Bounds for their bravery and quick response to this terrible scene. We are also grateful to the Fort Worth citizens who saw someone in danger and, without hesitation, assisted our officers.
