Leave it to Jimmy Kimmel Live to employ a bunch of elementary school-aged actors to shed some light on the history of the season’s most cherished holiday tradition, Black Friday.

Jimmy Kimmel invited students from Edward James Olmos Elementary in Montebello, California to present “The Story of Black Friday” on Tuesday’s show. Wearing faux traditional pilgrim and Native American outfits — as well as a turkey, a wolf and a fur trader named Jebediah — the kids educated America all about the very first post-Thanksgiving shopping extravaganza.

“I’m Jebediah from Crazy Jebediah’s Trading Post,” said the fur trader. “Our post-Thanksgiving prices are insane! Doors open at sunrise.”

Cue cute kids quoting price percentages and sales offers, then suggesting the inevitable origin of Black Friday: “Let’s sleep in front of the store so we can get the best stuff.”
