Brazile is a regular contributer on CNN and ABC News, and shortly after Wassermann Schutlz’s resignation broke, her role at the week’s convention was established thanks to this tweet from the DNC’s communications director.
This also comes after the news that Wassermann Schutlz’s role at the convention would be greatly diminished.
Before all of this, however, Brazile appeared on Sunday’s This Week, and addressed how leaks of committee efforts to undermine Bernie Sanders have left him and his supporters infuriated.
“I went over yesterday to see the Sanders campaign [and] I apologized,” Brazile said. “I think, the allegations, the e-mails, the insensitivity, the stupidity needs to be addressed.”
Brazile acknowledged that the DNC’s email leak
“Will some people have to step down, be removed and resign? I’m sure at the end of the day, yes.”
UPDATE – 9:30 p.m. ET: Politico reports that Brazile and CNN reached a mutual agreement to suspend their contract with one another until the end of the convention.
