Tuesday Ratings: CNN Wins State Of The Union In Key 25-54 Demo

On Tuesday night, which included the 2013 State of the Union, CNN beat all other cable news networks in average demo for the evening.

In the key 25-54 demo, CNN racked up an average 1.29M viewers during the primetime hours, beating out Fox’s 869k and MSNBC’s 790k. During the actual State of the Union address, CNN had 1.44M demo viewers, compared to MSNBC’s 1.03M and Fox’s 957k.

In total viewership, however, Fox won the night with an average of 3.83M, defeating CNN’s 3.37M and MSNBC’s 2.40M totals.

CNN experienced the largest growth from the 2012 State of the Union ratings, increasing 36% in both the demo and total viewership. MSNBC experienced a 26% increase in the demo, and an 8% boost in the demo. Fox News, however, experienced a decline: viewership decreased 16% in the demo and 3% in total.
