Martinez also said that politicians have reached out to him to offer their condolences, but told Cooper he has no interest in hearing any of what they have to say if all they have to offer is words without action.
“Don’t call me and tell me you’re sorry about my son’s death. I don’t want to hear it from you! I don’t want to hear that you’re sorry
about my son’s death, I don’t care if you’re sorry about my son’s death. You go back to Congress and you do something, and you come back to me and tell me you’ve done something, then I’ll be interested in talking to you.”
He vowed that in honor of his son, he would take action himself to make sure this type of tragedy doesn’t hit any other families.
