Former Hillary Clinton adviser Philippe Reines took quite a shot at one of Bill Clinton‘s sexual misconduct accusers during a recent interview.
In a chat with National Review‘s Jamie Weinstein, Reines was asked about a New York Times article on Democrats distancing themselves from the Clintons when the family used to be a major force on the campaign trail. Reines shrugged off the implications and said individual Democrats should handle the Clintons however they think is best for winning elections, though he acknowledged that the #MeToo era is causing many people to re-evaluate the former president’s legacy.
This led to Reines saying that Juanita Broaddrick is “full of shit.”
Weinstein: “Juanita Broaddrick was never really seriously…”Reines: “Juanita Broaddrick is full of shit…”Weinstein: “So you don’t think she’s telling the truth about that?”Reines: “I do not think she’s telling the truth. More importantly, Ken Starr did not think that she was telling the truth. For me, I assume Ken
Starr pulled no punches.”
Reines continued to make his argument that former independent counsel Ken Starr never considered Broaddrick a “credible witness” when she claimed in 1999 that the former president raped her.
“You think Ken Starr would have gone easy on Bill Clinton?” Reines asked.
Weinstein noted the possibility that Broaddrick was afraid to come forward in 1978 when her rape allegedly happened, though Reines was very skeptical, shooting back “she didn’t want to come forward, my ass.”
Listen above.
