Congressman Matt Gaetz (R- FL) came to the defense of colleague Jim Jordan (R- OH) last night over reports he turned a blind eye to sexual abuse at Ohio State.

Jordan, a former Ohio State wrestling coach, denied on Fox News last night any knowledge of abuse, telling Bret Baier, “Conversations in a locker room are a lot different than people coming up and talking about abuse. No one ever reported any abuse to me. If they had, I would have dealt with it.”

Baier followed up by asking if he heard about “something short of abuse that may be considered abuse now in this current time.” Jordan said he didn’t.

Gaetz, a close ally of Jordan’s, took to Twitter after Jordan’s interview last night to suggest something sinister going on here:

More recent reporting on the Ohio State allegations now has up to six ex-wrestlers telling Politico about the harassment they faced and saying while they don’t blame Jordan for what happened, “they said he would have had to know

about it.”
