Apparently not satisfied after calling President Obama a Muslim, co-chair of the New York chapter of the Trump campaign Carl Paladino is going after Khizr Khan and saying that he is unworthy of the title of “gold star” father.

During a radio interview he gave last week, Paladino ripped Humayun Khan‘s father over the blistering speech he gave against Donald Trump during the Democratic National Convention. Paladino said that Khan disgraced his son’s sacrifice by speaking in favor of Hillary Clinton, and in an email he sent yesterday to Buzzfeed, he doubled down and accused the Clinton Campaign of orchestrating Khan’s entire speech.

“Allowing himself to be so controlled by Hillary that he would dishonor the memory of his heroic son shows the man’s lack of character and backbone,” Paladino said. “She even bought him the pocket constitution, which he probably never read but also returned to the staff after the speech.”

While he did not provide evidence to support his claims, Paladino brought up the fringe rumors advanced by Trump’s

supporters that Khan is an advocate for Sharia law and Islamic extremist groups. Paladino also proceeded to speculate that Gold Star families are ashamed of Khan for using his son’s death for political reasons.

In truth, several dozen Gold Star families have signed a joint letter condemning Trump for feuding with the Khan family and questioning if he knows what it’s like to sacrifice as much for America as they did.
