President Donald Trump went ALL CAPS to express concern that oil prices will soar following Saturday night’s military bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
The price of crude oil has remained notably flat in the first hours of Monday markets opening. However, there is concern within the investment community that oil prices will rise as part of an Iranian retaliation for the Trump-ordered bombing.
Apparently concerned about a surge in oil prices, and gas prices that would follow suit, Trump wrote on Truth Social: “EVERYONE, KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN. I’M WATCHING! YOU’RE PLAYING RIGHT INTO THE HANDS OF THE ENEMY. DON’T DO IT!”

According to the Wall Street Journal, the crude oil market had only moderately higher prices per barrel early Monday morning. Ed Ballard reports:
They are modestly higher. Brent crude, the international benchmark, spiked above $81 a barrel before falling back to trade around 0.6% higher at about $77.50 recently. WTI, the U.S. equivalent, rose a similar amount to slightly over $74 a barrel.
