Belfast Telegraph Visuals Editor Kevin Scott revealed two more images showing an individual dressed as a Hamas fighter during a Halloween celebration in Northern Ireland just hours after the police’s assessment that the photo was likely fake.

Scott posted more two images on Thursday following a statement issued by Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Chief Superintendent Nigel Goddard saying that after a brief investigation looking at CCTV footage he believed the photo was a “fake.”

Challenging the PSNI’s claim, the editor took to social media to share his concerns, saying that he found the senior officer’s assessment “extremely concerning” given that his team were able to uncover more evidence to support that the image was real.

“We have carried out analysis on this image and a second image of the man provided to @BelTel that police couldn’t find… and both images have absolutely no anomalies and full shadow detail,” Scott explained.

Police launched an investigation after an initial image circulated online and sparked backlash. There are now three photos of the individual in

question.

Goddard had stated that the costume shown in the image “may constitute a criminal offence.” Hamas is a proscribed terrorist organisation in the UK.
