Fox News hosts cut bait on an interview Saturday night after a guest came on air while apparently wasted.

The network leaned into hours of coverage of President Donald Trump’s military parade to mark the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. The day also happened to be his 79th birthday.

Lawrence Jones and Emily Compagno hosted Fox’s coverage of the parade, which the network treated like a military Super Bowl of sorts, complete with pre- and post-coverage in addition to the event itself. Shortly after 9:30 p.m. ET, the hosts welcomed Rebekah Koffler, a pro-Trump former intelligence officer, who joined remotely while appearing intoxicated.

Before her live hit, Koffler posted what in hindsight was an ominous tweet.

She wrote, “Well @POTUS is apparently encroaching on my airtime! My hit is moved to 8:20 – 8:30 pm depending on how long #Trump takes. I’m honored. Refilling my #champagne glass while waiting for my hit!”

Accompanying the text was a photo of a bottle of Saint-Hilaire.

This is what’s known as foreshadowing.

“Well, guys, here with us now former defense intel agency officer Rebekah Koffler,” Compagno said right after speaking with Fox’s Lucas Tomlinson. “Rebekah, what are your thoughts tonight on the incredible symbolism and the messaging that we saw here tonight from the commander-in-chief on our Army’s 250th birthday?”

Here is Koffler’

s response, during which she slurred her words throughout:

I am so excited, Emily, and Lucas Tomlinson, everybody. Like, this is incredible. Finally the United States is, uh, is back. I want really thank all of our Army, Navy, and Air Force officers who have been sacrificing their lives, literally. Their families have been contributing to the mission. Most of the time for the past quarter of a century because of the mismanagement of the, uh, the administrative state, they’ve been fighting these foreign wars. But with our new commander-in-chief, Donald J. Trump, they are prioritizing America first. And I wanna thank these officers for all of these sacrifices and all of the hardships that their families have endured. Lawrence Jones, you are doing– you’re your [unintelligible], man! You guys and [unintelligible] Lucas! I wanna thank–

Compagno cut the interview short right there.

“Thank you so much, Rebekah,” she said. “Thank you and thank you for your service, too. Well, our final thoughts on this historic patriotic celebration when we return.”
