Following the cancellation of White House tours — and the disappointed sixth graders who asked that the doors stay open for them — Fox News hosts Eric Bolling and Sean Hannity offered to pick up the tab for week of tours. On Friday, Bolling took to Fox & Friends to reiterate his offer, and underline that he won’t be letting up.

It started yesterday when, during The Five, Bolling proposed a deal:

“Make you a deal. Jay Carney, grab a pencil. Let the families take the White House tours next week and I’ll cover the added expenses. The word is it’ll cost around $74,000. If I can get the White House doors open, I will pick up the tab. Mr. Carney, you know this is an offer you can’t refuse. Give me a call.”

Hannity then joined forces, tweeting, “Count me in, I will pay for a week also!”

“It looks like the White House is punishing the people who own the people’s house,” Steve Doocy remarked on Fox & Friends. The segment later related

the story about the sixth graders who, upon learning their Washington D.C. would not include a tour, had the following message: “The White House is our house! Please let us visit!”

“If I can get the White House doors open for those sixth graders in Iowa, I’ll spend…the $74,000. I mean it,” Bolling said. “This isn’t trying to upstage the president. This isn’t playing a game. He’s playing the political game by saying, ‘I’m closing the White House.’ He’s punishing those kids.”

Gretchen Carlson noted that some are accusing the White House of cutting back on things that are “high profile,” such as tours and the TSA. Bolling agreed — adding that Newt Gingrich and Charles Krauthammer also expressed interest in pitching in.

“They have until close of business today,” Bolling continued. “I’m going to call Jay Carney. I’m going to call him all day long until I get through. Hopefully I get an answer from someone there telling us what they’re willing to do.”
