Representative Frederica Wilson (D-FL) raked Donald Trump across the coals on Tuesday for his new, escalated slams against Omarosa Manigault-Newman.
The president took his feud with his former Apprentice protege to the next level this morning by getting on Twitter and calling her a “dog” and a “crazed, crying lowlife.”
Wilson has her own experiences with Trump attacking her intelligence, and when CNN’s John Berman asked for her thoughts about these remarks about Manigault-Newman, she denounced the putdown as the latest example of the president’s racist tendencies.
“How dare he!? He has taken this country to its knees,” Wilson seethed. “Lebron James said it correctly when he said racism has always existed but President Trump has emboldened the racists to come forward without any fear of punitive action,s and we have got to stop this because I could be next.”
Wilson continued to say that she didn’t expect anything more from Trump as she continued to slam his as “a white supremacist” surrounded by other “white supremacists” in a racist administration. She also compared Trump to the Unite the Right 2.0 rallygoers this weekend, saying the president is “not only exhibiting the same kinds of characteristics, but he praises them and he gives them the power and emboldens them to mimic what he does and tweets out everyday.””
Berman noted that Trump calling his enemies
“Overwhelmingly, in my knowledge and experiences, it has always been African-American people that he’s called names to embarrass them and to smear them. That has been my experience.”
