Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was a guest on Fox Business Network’s Follow The Money with Eric Bolling Monday night, and threw a few demeaning barbs in the direction of New Jersey governor — and Mitt Romney supporter — Chris Christie, classifying his remarks about Newt Gingrich being an embarrassment to the Republican Party as “a rookie mistake.” She then clarified:

“He played right into the media’s hands,” Palin said. “Chris played right into it and spewed that about Newt embarrassing the party. Sometimes, if your candidate loses in just one step along this path, as was the case when Romney lost to Newt the other night and of course, Romney is Chris Christie’s guy, you kind of get your panties in a wad and you may say things that you regret later.”

Palin then brought up one of Christie’s past actions; namely, taking a state helicopter to his son’s baseball game.

“Some people may say, well, that sort of embarrassed your party, Chris,” Palin said. “And he

would then be on the receiving end of a comment that maybe he wished that somebody kept as an inside thought and not blasting that to the rest of the nation.”

One stellar point that Palin brought up — and it served to somewhat balance her early piling on of Romney’s camp — was that people calling for his tax returns seem to be laying off Rick Santorum (“I think he may be a millionaire, and yet he trusts himself to do his own taxes?”) and Ron Paul (“He got to dismiss the tax issue the other night,”). “If they’re going to goad Mitt Romney,” Palin said, “let’s play fair.”
