Former President Donald Trump was interrupted by an apparent supporter Friday afternoon in Michigan as he complained about President Joe Biden getting “screwed” out of his party’s nomination after he exited the race in July.
Trump was campaigning in the city of Warren when he griped about the way Vice President Kamala Harris received her party’s nomination. She was selected at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago after having not received any votes in this year’s primary.
The country’s 45th president told supporters in Michigan Friday, “They were rough with Joe Biden, and think of it. He got 14 million votes, and they tell him to get the hell out, and then they give it to her.”
Trump complained Harris was selected at the convention and that she dropped out of the 2020 Democratic primary before a single vote had been cast.
“She was the first one to drop out,” Trump said. “I guess that means she came in last. She never made it to the great state of Iowa during their primaries. And then she was running against her– it’s it’s actually not fair to [Biden]. It’s really not fair to him.”
A male voice from within the crowd shouted out, “Who cares?!”
Trump laughed at the remark and asked who in the crowd interrupted him.
“He’s got the right. Who cares?
After identifying the source of the interruption, Trump congratulated the man. The 2024 Republican nominee concluded:
You know, I’ve become such a nice guy, all of the sudden. I say it’s not fair to him, but this guy shouts out, “Who cares? Who the hell cares? Who cares about him?” I guess he happens to be right. That’s very good. Thank you for adding so much spice. That was a good lot of stuff. Who cares? But he did, he did get screwed.
