Vice President JD Vance hired Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s son to a role in his press office, reported ABC News on Monday.

Buckley Carlson will reportedly serve as Vance’s deputy press secretary, sources told ABC. Vance and Carlson have long been close allies, particularly on issues like limiting U.S. intervention overseas and opposing helping Ukraine fend off the ongoing Russian invasion.

Buckley Carlson has recently served as the deputy chief of staff to former Rep. (now Senator) Jim Banks (R-IN). ABC added some details on some of Vance’s other recent hires:

Andy Baker, a former foreign officer, was brought on to serve as Vance’s national security adviser. Will Martin was made Vance’s communication director after previously serving as Vance’s communication director during his time in the Senate. Luke Schroeder, who previously served as press secretary for Vance’s Senate office, is now Vance’s deputy communications director. Both men also worked for Vance during the presidential campaign.Taylor Van Kirk is Vance’s

press secretary after previously working as the communications director for his 2022 Senate campaign and as his press secretary during the presidential campaign.

Tucker Carlson has become an ever-increasingly controversial figure in recent months following his trip to Russia, softball interview with Vladimir Putin, and unabashed praise for Moscow as well as his recent revelation that he was attacked by a demon, which left him with physical marks. Last September, Vance defended Carlson after he platformed a Holocaust denier who told Carlson that “[Winston] Churchill was the chief villain of the Second World War.”

This is a developing story and will be updated.
