President Donald Trump isn’t done renovating the White House, announcing in a social media post Friday that he had redone the Lincoln Bathroom, and claiming that he had removed tile that was “totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era.”
The announcement comes in the wake of the president’s controversial construction of a ballroom, which entailed the demolition of the entire East Wing — contrary to Trump’s promise that the construction “won’t interfere with the current building” and would be “near [the East Wing] but not touching it.”
In a Truth Social post Friday afternoon, Trump wrote:
I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House. It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era. I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!
Along with the post, the president included the following two photos, apparently of a before-and-after

Trump then published seven more posts with photos showing additional views of the bathroom with the new marble and gold fixtures.
