Just an hour after President Donald Trump announced military bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, a Democratic congressman called for impeachment proceedings.
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. The announcement from Trump marks the first time the United States has bombed Iran since the latest conflict between Israel and Iran started.
Appearing on Fox News via telephone, Chad Pergram reported that Democratic Congressman Sean Casten from Illinois insisted that these actions were an “unambiguous impeachable offense.”
“It’s notable that we’ve heard from the Republican leadership here, but not from the Democratic leadership,” Pergram told Bret Baier. “Silence so far from Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leaders here.”
