The Trump administration launched its own version of the Drudge Report on Wednesday under the name, “The White House Wire.”

“The White House has its own wire now. Read what we’re reading,” announced the White House in a social media post, directing followers to a Drudge Report-style page with headlines and links to various news outlets, including Breitbart, Fox News, the Daily Caller, the New York Post, the Washington Times, the Washington Examiner, Newsweek, Axios, The Guardian, and The Hill.

The Drudge Report – a former ally-turned-critic of President Donald Trump – responded to the White House Wire’s launch with its own series of headlines.

“IT TAKES AN ENTIRE WEST WING TO COMPETE WITH DRUDGE…” wrote the Drudge Report. “DEVELOPING: TRUMP LAUNCHING HIS OWN DRUDGE REPORT… USING TAXPAYER DOLLARS!”

In a statement to Status News’ Oliver Darcy, Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge said, “I’m considering a $1 trillion lawsuit!”

The White House Wire launched with headlines promoting Trump’s policies and achievements in his first 100 days.

“President Trump Celebrates Massive Investments in America,” read the leading headline on the page, which linked to one of the Trump administration’s own social media posts.

Other headlines included, “Walmart expands support for American-made products,” “AstraZeneca shifts more production to US amid Trump tariffs,” “$5+ trillion in new investment fuels America’s future,” and “David Blackmon: Trump’s first 100 days of energy policy are a rousing success.”

Headlines also promoted senior members of Trump’s administration, including Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins.
