Chris Christie went after a top Biden administration official for not giving good enough answers to questions about the mysterious drones flying over New Jersey.
Appearing on ABC’s This Week Sunday, the former New Jersey governor criticized Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for downplaying concerns about the drones hovering over the Garden State.
“Is this a mass hysteria of some sort?” Host George Stephanopoulos asked Christie.
“Here’s why, George,” Christie replied. “Because of answers like the secretary just gave. They’re not answering the questions.
“He said they’re they’re monitoring it, they haven’t seen any unusual activity and they need more authority.” Stephanopoulos said.
“Let me tell you something,” Christie responded. “I agree that they need more authority. But … to say this is not unusual activity, it’s just wrong! I’ve lived in New Jersey my whole life. This is the first time that I’ve noticed drones over my house. And I was in a restaurant in Monmouth County on Friday night. Had people at the bar coming up to me and saying, Governor Murphy, won’t tell me anything. The president won’t tell me anything.”
Moments earlier, Mayorkas tried to downplay the drone sightings.

When asked if Americans have anything to worry about, Mayorkas replied, “Look, it is our job to be vigilant in the federal government with our state and local partners on behalf of the American public. And we can ensure their safety by reason of that vigilance. We’ve deployed personnel, technology. And if there is any reason for concern, if we identify any foreign involvement or criminal activity, we will communicate with the American public accordingly. Right now, we are not aware of any.”
