Ex-presidential niece Mary Trump could not contain her glee at former President Donald Trump’s ballot ban, and spent several minutes riffing on her “insurrectionist, anti-American anti-Democratic fascist” uncle.
The story of the day Wednesday was the Colorado Supreme Court’s bombshell ruling banning Trump from the ballot on the grounds that he violated the 14th Amendment by engaging in insurrection on January 6. The court split on the question in a 4 to 3 decision.
Mary Trump — host of The Mary Trump Show podcast and a strident Trump critic — rushed to get analysis from Call To Activism’s Joe Gallina in a video exclusive to her The Good In Us newsletter subscribers on Tuesday.
But first, Trump did a victory dance for several minutes:
Fabulous news today from the Colorado Supreme Court who ruled that Donald Trump, yes, Donald Trump, the insurrectionist, anti-American anti-Democratic fascist, who for some bizarre reason is leading the Republican nominating contest by 50 points, is not eligible to be on the ballot for the Republican primary in that state. This is amazing news! Yes, it’s going to go to the United States Supreme Court, but if they are able to read English, they should concur with this decision, which is very clear. And I’ll get to that in a second. But, as Joe Gallina, my friend from Call to Activism, and I discuss this incredible development, I want you to keep in the
back of your head–because some of it’s going to get a little serious (it’s not necessarily all great news, but we need to stay positive). As we’re going through the details of this case and what comes next, just remember how many little mini-bottles of ketchup Donald Trump is throwing at the walls of Mar-a-Lago. And spare of thought, please, for the people who are going to have to clean up after him.
