President Joe Biden was asked on Wednesday what makes him certain that the hospital in Gaza was not struck by an Israeli missile, after he said earlier to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you.”

Among several shouted questions directed at President Biden Wednesday morning, Bloomberg’s Jennifer Jacobs asked him about the hospital that was destroyed in Gaza. Hamas blamed Israel for the explosion at the hospital, and some of the media, as well as Democrats Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar, quickly accepted that explanation and condemned Israel the “slaughter.”

Upon arrive in Israel, Biden told Netanyahu, “I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. And based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you, in our view. But there are a lot of people out there who are not sure. So we got a lot of work to overcome, a lot of things.”

As reporters were bombarding Biden with questions, Jacobs asked what made him certain it was not Israel who bombed the hospital.

“The data I was shown by my Defense Department,” said Biden.

The IDF, with whom the United States is sharing intel, blamed the hospital bombing on Islamic Jihad.
