Former RNC chair Reince Preibus slammed former President Barack Obama and other Democrats after Obama’s friendly conversation with president-elect Donald Trump at the memorial for Jimmy Cater last week, saying it exposed claims of fascism and Nazism about Trump as a “sham.”
During the November election, Obama along with other prominent Democrats and media critics claimed Trump was a “fascist” and compared him to Adolf Hitler. However, during Carter’s memorial in Washington D.C, the two former president appeared to have a friendly conversation as they sat through the church service.
While speaking on This Week panel on Sunday, Priebus claimed that Obama’s comments about Trump during the election were just a “sham.” Former DNC Chair Donna Brazile interjected to defend Obama.
PREIBUS: I would say a couple of things quickly. Number one, Donald Trump, one on one with people, people that even don’t like him one on one. He’s a charming guy. He’s great with people…It’s good to see. But the third thing, it also shows what a sham some of the Democrat talking points. I mean, Donald Trump is supposed to be Hitler. He was a fascist. He was a threat to democracy…It’s a sham! It’s a sham!BRAZILE: He’s a convicted felon who’s about to take political office!PREIBUS: This was their entire campaign!
It was the whole thing.BRAZILE: This is not about the name calling that Donald Trump has done for the last 8 years.PREIBUS: It was a lie!BRAZILE: The bottom line is he’s elected president. As Mr. Fetterman and others have said. He’s going to be our president.
