Fox News host Howie Kurtz accused legal experts “on other channels” of claiming that Donald Trump helped Michael Cohen commit crimes and predicting he will be indicted, but at least two of Fox News’ own legal experts — Andrew McCarthy and Andrew Napolitano — have literally done the exact same thing.

On Sunday morning’s edition of Fox News Channel’s MediaBuzz, Kurtz told his panel that “The media already, much of the media, I would say, have already convicted President Trump” of ordering the crimes to which Cohen pleaded guilty.

He added that “There are all these ex-prosecutors, there are just dozens and dozens of them on the other channels, saying he helped Cohen commit a felony, he could be indicted if he wasn’t president, he could be indicted anyway, he could be impeached.”

Kurtz suggested that the “other channels” are overreacting, but it would appear that he missed a good chunk of Fox News’ programming over the past week.

For example, Fox News contributor and former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy told the hosts of Fox & Friends, last Sunday, that “It’s clear that Trump is the target [of the SDNY investigation] and that he’ll be indicted eventually.”

And Judge Napolitano went even further, spending a good portion of his week not only predicting that Trump will be indicted, but telling anyone who would listen to him that the crimes in which Trump is

implicated are even more serious than Cohen’s.

Kurtz and his panel also spent a good bit of time focusing on Cohen’s credibility, but as CNN’s Jake Tapper pointed out to Sen. Susan Collins on Sunday morning, there’s a lot more than just Cohen’s word to go on, including a tape recording in which Trump discusses one of the payoffs.

Sure, it’s tough to keep up with everything that gets said on the air, but you almost couldn’t turn the channel to Fox News this week without seeing some guy named “Andrew” predicting Trump is neck-deep in federal crimes. Maybe Howie just needs to read Mediaite some more.
