On the heels of Rudy Giuliani‘s shocking admission on Fox News regarding President Trump reimbursing Michael Cohen the $130,000 that was paid to Stormy Daniels, her attorney alleges that there is proof that payment was in fact motivated by the 2016 election.
Michael Avenatti sat down with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell and was asked if he was “aware of any communication” involving her client or her counsel in October 2016 regarding “the timing of the campaign.” Avenatti responded by saying of all the interviews and television appearances he has done thus far, not once was he asked that “important” question.
“There were extensive communications between Michael Cohen and Keith Davidson in October of 2016 relating to the timing of this payment and the need for the payment to be made prior to the election,” Avenatti told O’Donnell. “Extensive communications relating to the need for the payment to be made, when it was made, and as it related to potential influence on the election. Period.”
Keith Davidson was Stormy Daniels’ attorney at the time she was paid off by Cohen.
Avenatti added that “everyone involved” in the $130,000 payment between his client and Cohen “knew the importance of the payment as it related to the election” and that any claim that suggests it had nothing to do with the election is “complete bogus.”
