News Station Hunts Water on Twitter After City’s Supply Declared Unsafe
Toledo, Ohio’s water was declared unsafe to drink Saturday morning after tests found dangerous levels of microcystin in the city’s water supply. A state of emergency was announced, with all restaurants and grocers advised by the health department to close.
So where do you get drinking water if you’re a Toledo resident? Toledo News Now sprung into action with the #EmptyGlassCity hashtag, tweeting and retweeting stores and facilities that have safe bottled water until more supplies are reroute to the afflicted areas — as well as opportunists selling cases of water for emergency-inflated prices:
