Rep. Mike Rogers Supports Execution For WikiLeaks Source Bradley Manning

Here are the facts as we currently know them. The United States is currently waging war in Afghanistan. SPC Bradley Manning has been arrested and charged with providing classified documents that later were released by the website Wikileaks. Some have called “ the biggest leak in US military history” an act of treason, and since it occurred during a period of war, Private Manning should be executed. And one person who agrees with that sentiment is Rep. Mike Rogers (R – MI.)

Rogers comments came during and interview with Michigan radio station WHMI which reported:

The Brighton Republican sits on the House Intelligence Committee and told WHMI that Private Bradley Manning appears to be guilty of treason in time of war, which is a capital crime. He also criticized what he called a “culture of disclosure” for encouraging someone like Manning into thinking that the release of such sensitive information was a good thing.

In the following audio clip, Rogers argues that “the death penalty clearly should be considered here,” continuing “he clearly aided the enemy to what may result in the death of U.S. soldiers or those cooperating. If that is not a capital offense, I don’t know what is.”

Michigan should really take a good look at this failure of a representative.

I’m not going to say I agree with him because I don’t know what specific information was leaked, but he does have a point. Like it or not, releasing secret information is considered an act of treason and treason is punishable by death.

So I guess we have to look at the same punishment for Dick Cheney and Scooter Libbey.

Are you talkin’ about Plame-gate??? If so, it wasn’t Cheney or Scooter, it was Dick Armitage who “outed” her. Even though it’s CNN, here’s a link to the whole affair.

Hey Colby, will you look into this:

Unreal. State-Run Media Suppresses Fact That Wikileaks Traitor

    DON’T ASK – DON’T TELL- DON’T REPORT–
    Had you heard this yet?
The Wikileaks leaker is a radical gay activist nut who was upset over a recent break up… So he leaked over 90,000 classified military documents.

Do you think this might be an important piece of information in the Wikileaks scandal?
Apparently, our corrupt journolist state-run media doesn’t think it’s important. Or maybe they’re just hiding it from the public?
    …No they wouldn’t do that.

It was also the CIA Public Affairs Office, who confirmed to Bob Novak that Plame worked for the Agency. Because she was a sooper-sekrit agent, of course.

How is his sexuality relevant to a question of whether or not he committed treason?
