Sarah Palin Signs Multi-Year Deal As Fox News Contributor

Sarah Palin will “host an occasional series” on Fox News after signing on with the network as a contributor, the New York Times is reporting. This blockbuster cable news move ends rampant speculation about Palin’s new career plans since after she announced her resignation as the governor of Alaska in July. As if Fox needs the ratings help!

Via the Times:

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series.

Details remain scarce but the report notes that “the deal could be formally announced as early as this afternoon.” Mediaite has approached Fox News for comment, though we’ll all certainly know more soon enough.

That’s good news. My channel selector seems to be programmed around “205″ the local satellite signal for FOX. She and her tacky family will be easy to avoid now.

  • The Real Royal King

I do have to ask: Is anyone really surprised she ended up at Teabagger Central?

  • TfT

Another great grab by FNC. It is now the ONLY network that has two historic women on as contributors:

Geraldine Ferraro – the only democratic female to be nominated to her party’s Presidential Ticket
Sarah Palin – the only republican female to be nominated to her party’s Presidential Ticket

No other network will ever be able to present such a balance of the only two female VP candidates in the history of our nation.

  • Snipzor

Realistically this was a very bad idea. Considering that Sarah Palin mimics what other people are saying, she will have to provide unique political insight into situations. Oh wait it’s Fox, they give her the opinion she has to say, and she says it. I keep forgetting we’re talking about FNC.

  • The Real Royal King

Well, who knows, TfT, maybe some day the Republicans will nominate a bona fide, potentially qualified, electable Republican presidential candidate. Then FOX will be the Cat’s Pajamas.

Will she be providing media criticism? I think she’d be excellent in that role, given her voracious consumption of all known media. I just hope she stays through her contract and doesn’t quit halfway through; it’d be terrible if Fox were to “wish her well.”

    PALIN! PALIN! PALIN!

  • liberalontogeny

It’s a cable news channel idiots. Your remote controls are not being held hostage by someone for you to go to CNN, MSNBC or FOX. Your remote control doesn’t hold you at knife point and make you type in the channel numbers for stations you don’t like, hate or make you have seizures!

You should get a label maker and apply the following label on your remotes if your bitching. As follows:
“I’m a fucking idiot, blowhard and bitchy whiner for complaining about stations that no one forces me to watch”
(applies to each of you bitching about a cable or MSM anchor, analyst, reporter, commentator etc.)

STFU: I’m going out on a limb that ‘The Real Royal King’, ‘roxsteady’, ‘im not blue’, lnsmithee’ are really tyhe same person with multiple accounts JUST with multiple personalities. Same characteristics:

bitch whine, bitch whine, bitch whine, bitch whine some more. And in droves. You can almost sense their hyperventilating from the number of comments they post.

Try this: go outside, say have a nice day to someone, open the door for someone, give someone a compliment, say yourself, my glass is half full today AND REPEAT.

Get a fucking life. I know you have one, but try to have one where you don’t come off so fucking whiney!

    That’s a pretty good point.

Wow… you’re angry. Thanks for whining about us… nobody will notice the irony.
    _______

I think the question will be, “What is Palin going to talk about?” She’s got some interesting insight, but honestly, I think FNC already has some quality commentators with longer resumes who provide that kind of insight. That leaves Palin in a position to be more specifically “Palin.” I wonder what role put her in.

As for the negativity and snark that’s about to flow (and started already) from the left… *yawn*. They’re going to get really nasty, but that’s nothing new. I saw we just sit back and let them tire themselves out… like a crying baby, eventually they’ll get sleepy and go to bed.

  • therzo

Is TfT joking? It’s really spot-on satire if so. Because god knows we all really care about losing VP candidates. I was going to make a joke about Lloyd Bentsen, but I realized he actually accomplished things, unlike Ferraro and Palin.

  • http://www.uselessbeauty.com Vidiot

“What is Palin going to talk about?”

The party line, presumably, delivered with a wink and “You betcha.”

  • sarainitaly

I can’t wait to see her. it should gve people the opportunity to learn more about her, and see what she is capable of. Despite her bad interview with Katie, she performed brilliantly at the RNC and in the VP debate. Time to see what else she can do. We know she can bring the Dems scrambling with a mere FB post

  • liberalontogeny

See INB, you don’t take criticism well. Not anger. It’s CRITICISM! I’m just stating what many of us want to say to those I listed.

I’ve been reading Mediaite for awhile now and never commented. But you ‘guys’ get progressively worse. You can look at it as I’m trying to do you a favor. The CRITICISM can be looked as a way to dig yourself out of the rabbit hole you’re stuck in and a way to make your comments be more pursuasive. Instead of chasing your own tails for weeks on end. You ‘guys’ will not convince anyone with your fringe and whiney approach. Your narratives are STUCK in a whiney, insulting and narrow way.

Like if you had friends and they were always whiney, you would maybe tell them so they come off better.

Or they could shut you out and just say you’re an angry friend.

  • sarainitaly

TfT – Good point. Good for Fox. How many people in the country can say they rose to the level of being selected for a national presidential ticket. They are forever a part of our history. I am still waiting for the day when we will actually have a female VP or POTUS, but until then, they are historical. And I, for one, am very interested in what they have to offer. Much more so than certain anonymous people on blogs. ;O)

  • TfT

The left is apoplectic on the hiring of Palin by FNC. The left is throwing MLK under the bus by defending Harry.
Watching the media and the democrats (ah, but I repeat myself) go berserk over these two items in one day is so humorous.

  • sarainitaly

    liberalontogeny says:

I agree with some of what you said, but there is NOOO way I’m not blue and roxsteady are the same person! She is a hateful, bigoted, suicidal/homocidal maniac with hitler tendancies who can’t form an opinion without spewing hate and bigotry and calling everyone an idiot.

  • sarainitaly

homicidal not homocidal. HA man, i wish there was an edit button. i do not do well typing in the dark! and i mispelled tendencies… i need to proof myself.

  • tjl

The dumb get dumber. This is funny!

  • The Real Royal King

It appeared to me you’re fully proofed, Sara. I haven’t laughed so hard since the last panty raid on the girls at the state university. Their intelligence and their lack of resistance never made it seem worth the effort. “Brilliant” is far more appropriate with a box of 15 watt light bulbs than it is the unfortunate resigned governor of Alaska.

  • http://www.uselessbeauty.com Vidiot

Apoplectic? Hardly. “Amused” is more like it. “Not surprised” is another. Fox can hire who it wants.

  • BJL411

    TIMING?

We knew she’s the laughing stock of the party, but some cons actually truly believed she’d be a great candidate for 2012. We of course, WANTED her to be the candidate.

She’s obviously always been inline for a profitable career in media, but yet she stayed out there. Why? Because they actually thought she could run in 2012.

So…. a BOOK comes out and reveals major details on Sarah Palin which were revealed on 60 Minutes last night… and low and behold.. she has a job on Fox today! The book FINISHED her in politics.

    TIMING!

  • RazorsEdge

For the record, Palin will make her FOX contributor debut tomorrow on O’Reilly. PSA for your hostage remote control taking people!

  • The Real Royal King

BJL411: You make two points, very well taken:

#1 Effectively, the book ended Palin’s political career. Why? Because her own words condemned her as being nothing more than a fool? Because the taste of the money was so good? Obviously, a combination of the two, but how do you think we ought to weight the two, BJL?

#2 The Side of the Angels wanted Palin to get the Republican/Teabag nomination. It would have been far more a vacation than a campaign.

    Thanks for your points!

So says anonymous blogger on the internet…. You can continue to kick Palin all you want, but I have no doubt her accomplishments and successes far outshine many of those who love to knock her achievements. Considering she kicked Biden’s ass in the VP debate, someone with 35 years experience and a foreign policy “expert”, I believe she performed brilliantly.

  • BJL411

Darn I’ll be busy tomorrow night picking the lint off my sofa… oh darn.

For those who didn’t see the interview on 60 Minutes last night about Palin’s campaign run. They said it was a disaster. Per McC’s campaign : “A catastrophe of historical and epic proportions”. They said she didn’t understand why there’s a N Korea and a S Korea. She couldn’t focus and was glazed over during practice runs for her debate. They asked if she was nervous and she said no that it was god’s calling for her to be there.

McC wanted Lieberman for VP. He was in the running literally up until a week before the announcement of a VP was chosen. The R party found Lieberman too decisive. The Mc C campaign mgr WENT ON THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR A FEMALE CANDIDATE- THEY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW WHO SHE WAS.

None of them knew her. The McC campaign sent 1 lawyer on the itnernet to check her out.. THAT IS THE ONLY VETTING THEY DID OF SARAH PALIN! .. Then, they flew her in and met her literally 3 days before she was presented to the US as their VP Candidate. THIS SHOULD SCARE THE SH’T OUT OF EVERYONE!.

Those are only a few of the details about this utter dingbat that doesn’t know anything about anything. They called her a LIAR on many topics. this is the R campaign mgr calling her a LIAR on several topics.

The book was going to destroy any chance she had of a political career.. of course she got a tv gig on the laughable Fox fake news network .

  • BJL411

    decisive= divisive

  • The Real Royal King

Palin kicked Biden’s derriere? This must be a huge surprise to the vast majority of Americans who thought otherwise in post-debate polling. Did you really watch the debate? If so, you are far more vacuous than I would have otherwise thought.

  • The Real Royal King

Again, BJL, you make an excellent point. In the end, the McCain camp came down to a gimmick: a woman to lure away disaffected Hillary voters. It was a foolish move or a desperate one, or both. Women ran from Palin at great speed and in large numbers. Except, of course, for women with exceedingly low self-esteem who were going to vote Republican anyway. But the McCain did one thing well. It looked for a gimmick, and it could have found nothing as profoundly gimmicky.

  • BJL411

In answer to your question (sorry , not around here much)..but I think in the first place she should have been honest with the public.. though she’s stupid, she’s pretty, charismatic and cons love her.. she obviously had the makings of a long career in media.. even if it was just a talk show. She should have been honest in the 1st place when she QUIT her Gov job after only 2 yrs and admit she was chasing the fame and the big bucks.

  • blueblogger

liberalontogeny I think I love you!! You hit the nail on the head even if you were a tad angry. By the way it is fine to be angry. I read a ton of blogs and yes people when they are have anonymity act like 12 year olds in school. Nitpit every little thing.

By the way there should be an edit button and a “report abuse” button.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Dave-Martin/1705699176 Dave Martin

Good, she should raise the Fox News IQ level by several percentage points!

Btw, Palin’s book publisher is HarperCollins, also owned by Rupert Murdock, you ‘betcha.

    It’s called collecting wingnut welfare.

But my question is will she have to dye her hair blond?

  • http://www.sailrabbits.com Magister

Good point, TfT – Maybe Fox can resurrect MSNBC’s(?) Equal Time?

  • Ted

The perfect fit for the Fox Freak-show. sarainItally – only a total nincompoop would suggest that this idiot kicked O’Bidens ass. Lighten up on the Palin suckage.

  • puck30

I wonder if John McCain will file an FEC complaint now against Fox News for giving her free political advertising?

  • puck30

The Edwards- John and Elizabeth. Elizabeth is the woman with cancer who has an unfaithful, jackass of a husband. She garnered all our sympathy and now we find out she was abusive to her husband all along. What an unhappy and miserable existence that family must follow. Well, their big, huge house is next to a trailer park. Coincidence?

The Clintons- Bill and Hillary- she, who decided she did not want the Secretary of State position after it was offered because of Bill. He was too much of a problem, and then Obama told her how much he needed her. She has turned out to be the most valuable of his cabinet. And, Bill, using the racist remark about Obama who would have served coffee in another time. Oh that Bill!

The McCains- John and Cindy- the kind of marriage that we didn’t know about but had been whispered about- she cold and calculating, with a lover on the side. John may have followed the same path.

Sarah Palin- some staff members assigned to Sarah Palin by the McCain campaign discussed the “threatening possibility: that Palin was mentally unstable” and, yet without her, or with Libermann. McCain would have lost by much more.

VP Biden- how many goofs and mistakes would he make? The total hasn’t come back yet. And he’s a heartbeat away from you know what..

Harry Reid- Well, we all know about Harry.

Lots of inside info that I will leave for you to read. Much of this is hearsay

So would anybody like to tell me as I read this book how it will ‘just’ destroy Palin’s career?

I have to admit, it does make me giggle, because just that one word, Palin makes people’s heads explode.

Palin will show up on O’Reilly Tuesday night and independents will tune in. So will I. And so will the far right who will kneel and pray for the miracle to decend upon the land. All toll? About 4-5 million will watch. ca-ching!

And then on wednesday night, Olbermann & wolffe will play the interview over again and stop the tape and smirk, as the far left rubs themselves into a pleasuring delight. While O’Reilly and Ailes will say. Thanks ‘bugs’ for re-running my show. Ca-ching, ca-ching.

BTW: What are the ‘Game Change Authors’ doing on Hannity talking ‘Smack’ about Obama, Biden, Bill, & Hill?
So much for the it’s all about the trashin’ Palin. Should have read the book first kids.

What did Jim Trafficant use to say? Oh yeah, beam me up! it time for me to leave Obama’s 57 States.

I hope she sticks to cable news. The country is better off with her away from governing.
