Sure, The Jets-Patriots Game Was Exciting, But Was It “Herey Barlskdjff?”
A Reddit user caught an interesting typo in The Times-Picayune yesterday. Describing Sunday’s Jets-Patriots game, the paper used the headline, “Jets Patriots goes herey barllskdjf fkdasd fg asdf.” Huh. I guess the writer had a heart attack.
Over at Gawker they’re proposing the rather banal explanation that this was merely a dummy headline that was supposed to be taken out. Dummy headlines are a common practice in journalism. In fact, this piece had the working title “Writeup Of Silly Paper Typo To Keep From Having To Do Real Work.” Fun headline but it isn’t going to do anything on the search engines.
All I know, though, is that Sports Grid is gonna need to step their game up to rival the sports coverage of the Times-Picayune. Those guys are saying stuff I’ve never even heard before about football!
