Again? During Budget Presser John Boehner Calls NBC News’ Luke Russert ‘The Loudmouth’

video

Skeptics may have thought that Luke Russert, the 25 year-old son of news legend Tim Russert, may got his shot as NBC News reporter as a product of nepotism; that his journalistic experience (or lack therein) didn’t warrant such a prime and influential gig at such an early. But judging by the 25 year-old’s willingness to brazenly interject (shout?) tough questions during recent press events, he appears to earned some stripes; or at least has really gotten under the skin of John Boehner, who twice now has called Russert “loud,” or “loudmouth.”

Was it disrespectful or fun? Yesterday Boehner answered Russert’s question with his own question, asking of the cub reporter “why are you so loud all the time?” and it seemed like a light and teasing moment. But today when Boehner chided Russert by saying “look, its that loudmouth again,” the House Speaker seemed more like a cranky old man unsettled by a uppity young buck, in a frank and quasi-frustrated exchange that one rarely sees in today’s age of scripted press events.

Shortly after the moment, Russert clarified the tone of the exchange via Twitter, writing “@SpeakerBoehner is not snapping at me. It’s a 2 week long joke now. He makes fun of @jakesherman for his haircuts. He’s a joker”

Colby — you continue to fail miserably at English:

That is some pretty terrible grammar. “may got his shot”; “at such an early.”

And yes — of course Luke is only where Luke is because of Daddy. C’mon.

  • avoidswork

Yes, I would agree that nepotism helped Luke out. Just like Peter Doocey (son of F&F Steve Doocey) is a reporter at FNC. Just like Daddy Bush helped out Stupid Bush. Just like the Kennedys. Just like *ucker Carlson, etc. Yawn. Bored now.

But Orange Man Who Cries Alot is really showing his leadership and maturity by referring to a WH reporter as “the loudmouth” in jest. Russert is demostrating more maturity by blowing it off than Orange Man Who Cries Alot is engaging in it.

Don’t forget Chris Wallace and the Mike Wallace connection.

  • idesign

Luke Russert, not even half the man his father was. Too bad, so sad…..

  • dhg

This site needs to proof read it’s posts….

As for Luke,he isn’t his father and he needs time to grow into being a repoter where he has been placed. He should have had years building to this job but his name got him in too soon. That said I think he has a career ahead of him that will be at least reasonably good.

  • jerrybobphil

Luke seems like a good guy but everyone knows how he got that job lets not pretend that he’s some great talent.

  • Thelonious Funk

    This guy is funny.

    I’m talking Tom Skerritt funny.

Tim Russert was brought up in a working class home and had great respect for his father, a war vet- he earned his job and his financial security, but never looked down on the life in which he was raised nor its people. Luke Russert was brought up in the entitled environs of private schools and like-minded elites- he has no real world experience. It is unfortunate that he was not given the opportunity to become a man on his own merit by first working in small markets and learning his craft. He will always know that he didn’t deserve the job he has been given because his father died. Young Doocy has been put on fluff pieces and minor stories. I have seen him improve and be given more important assignments as he has become more experienced and “made his bones.” He may actually become a good newsman.

    Was it disrespectful or fun?

Well, it involved a Republican… so of course it was “disrespectful.” Duh.

“@SpeakerBoehner is not snapping at me. It’s a 2 week long joke now. He makes fun of @jakesherman for his haircuts. He’s a joker

You shut your mouth, Luke! We’re having fun suggesting that Boehner is a jerk! Don’t ruin this for us!

He’s a Republican, and your a JOURNALIST (read: Liberal) … you must learn to use these things to your (read: political) advantage.

Back to the budget wars………………….Reid was just on in a news conference where he is panicked into frantically trying to blame Republicans for being against women’s cancer scans. Next, he’ll probably be trying to claim Republicans are behind the tsunami in Japan. If this budget cut proposal goes through, look for Reid and his Demons to exercise the usual Democrit vengeance and try to cut the most crucial programs to inflict the maximum damage against innocent citizens………………….for no reason other than partisanship.

Desperation drops the facade of intellect and exposes Reid’s inner idiocy. How can you Dims stay on board with these people?

I just wish the Dems would stop holding the military hostage and just pass the country saving bill.
No matter where you go you will always find a Dem trying to destroy this country.
    Those dirty sub-human pig’s.

  • Cancon2

One more and another Pol using it and Luke will have a nice little moniker for himself. Count on it. I can just see Leterman about 5 years from now, “Let’s welcome Loudmouth Russert everyone”.

  • Color Me Badd

Boner should have called him the “frat boy who would be a car salesman right now if it weren’t for his father”.

  • notsofast

    Legend?

Well when the GOP/TeaTards are holding a budget hostage over Planned Parenthood, it’s not Reid who’s the idiot, the desperate or despicable.

    It’s the psychotic social conservatives.

If you think holding out for Planned Parenthood defunding is more noble then ensuring SS checks go out and troops get paid, then your soul is blacker than previously thought.

Where are all the black Fox hosts again? What black person has their own show at Fox? MSNBC has Tamron Hall’s show everyday and how could you forget my main man Alan Keyes!

  • TfT

ABC and CBS are both running DNC talking points as their headline stories. Bwahahahaha

Once again demonstrating that the broadcast “news networks” are nothing more than propagandists for the DNC.

    So funny to watch them.

  • kit9

Tim Russert is rolling in his grave over the nepotism shown his god awful son, Luke. Luke’s treatment at MSNBC is not just digraceful-it’s so unprofesstional. Luke, straight out of college practically, was given a primo on-air assignment doing HARD news. While other jounos Luke’s age were learning and earning their stripes in newsrooms, writing and doing background work, Luke the Fat, was playing real reporter and insulting both his father’s memory and MSNBC’s audience. Why? Because he was AWFUL. God freaking awful! His reports were laughably superficial-along the lines of cub reporter on a HS paper. And, his on-air performance was worse…he’s inarticulate, inappropriate(he loves to grin through serious stories, so happy is this fatty to be on TV! Weee!), unpolished and unprofessional.

  • Barack Must Go

I think Boehner really likes the late Tim Russert’s boy. To Boehner family bonding is most important and is more than likely taking young Luke under his wing because he lost his dad.

Is this the tax-funded abortions DemonCrats have always lied about NOT being tax-funded? Dark souls are the ones who find they must lie to continue their evil, and hold the murder of unborn humans out of convenience as a higher priority than saving their own nation from financial collapse. No matter how you try to spin it, THAT is the TRUTH.

Uma Pemmaraju is of Indian descent. You know….the name should give you a clue? Also, NBC/MSNBC has far greater diversity than FOX does when it comes to their hosts/anchors/correspondents/journalists. It’s not even close.

  • KirbbDogg2000

Luke is not at fault here. I do think when his dad died NBC news took advatige of his death lets not forget they showed his funeral. Then a few weeks after they hired Luke. NBC news wanted another russert after Tim died and hired Luke for those resion. I think Tom Brokal and Chris Mathews helped a little bit too. But give him his due he did get under Beaner;s skin.

Just because Fox hires prostitutes to say anything that is far right wing to destroy the middle class, does not mean that being a minority shows they are less than the totalitarian organization run by Muslim Royalty and Kafkaesque Australian right wing propagandist and Nazi,

Again, I would tell notsofast that he should stop calling people son. If he has a son, he probably visits him in a hospital for the criminally insane.

Doesn’t it make you proud, knowing that our House of Representatives is being led by a Republican boner?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ed-Durffee/1311278663 Ed Durffee

Im wondering why you are concerned with boners. And since you are, why are you not proud that finally someone in leadership has one? You really need to learn how to express hatred a little better if you wish to elevate to real Liberalism.

From the article:… But today when Boehner chided Russert by saying “look, its that loudmouth again,” the House Speaker seemed more like a cranky old man unsettled by a uppity young buck, in a frank and quasi-frustrated exchange that one rarely sees in today’s age of scripted press events. …

Russert is just being a big meanie, asking questions and whatnot. He won’t be happy until he makes Weeper Of The House Boner cry.

What ever happened to that nice Jeff Gannon fellow they had in the press pool during the Bush Administration? At least he knew how to treat a Republican authority figure (not that there’s anything wrong with that)

  • X-3

He called Luke a loudmouth because Luke is a loudmouth. Have you ever noticed those who have the least to say speak loudest?

Could you refer to the tax funded abortions “OTHER THAN TEA SITES” ! We would like to know how this has been allowed without any truth, or examples! Could we please, please do this “without ” the grade school name calling and all the standard hate?

I just can’t get past all the grammatical errors in this article…
