Chyron of the Day: Thanks, George W. Bush, For Saving The Economy

Fox News, 4:03pmET, yesterday:

chyron_10-15

There were a lot of stories yesterday about the Dow closing above 10,000 again, but no one took the creative tactic employed by Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto. Hey, this recovery is great and all, but can’t we thank former Pres. George W. Bush?

“What was once the Bush recession is now the Bush recovery? Or is that a stretch,” said Cavuto at the beginning of the segment (h/t ThinkProgress). Cavuto’s guest, financial advisor Jim LaCamp thought that was not exactly a stretch.

Here’s the deal – Pres. Bush was in South Korea earlier this week, and mentioned in a speech, as Cavuto put, that his “big bank bailout is to thank” for the recovery.

So thank you George W. Bush for getting us back to 10,000…right everyone?

    I don’t get why this is worthy…

Because it asks a question of a former president?
Because it reminds folks that the Obama stimulus has only doled out about 15% of it’s resources?

I mean, I know coming from “Think Progress,” what THEY were trying to say… but unlike TP, I thought this site was supposed to be based in reality… so what are you trying to say here?

Ah yes. The fame of Missng-Link BushDrunk. That steady, patriotic, absent-aviator who has plunged most of the world into Darkness. He needs badly to be remembered. His gifts keep on giving every day in every way – even as he relaxes in his intellectual/moral/ethical dungeon. Depriving a Village somewhere of its…Idiot.

  • Jim R

Why not? They blamed Bush’s first recession that started in March, 2001 on Clinton. And after all, it is Fox.

  • ImNotBlue

    Nachi… still batting 1000.

While we’re at it Steve (and I know we had similar conversations over at TVN), what is the policy here about posters? Are personal attacks, thread-jacks, insults and off topic ramblings allowed? Is there moderation, or is a moderation free site? I haven’t seen anyone removed, or their post censored… and there’s nothing about it in the “about section.” Just wondering what the official policy is.

Sure, you can call it the Bush recovery. The country is recovering from the 8 years of terror Bush and his administration inflicted.

    *ZING*

I just want to have a beer with Dubya, thats all. Let him be people. Let him be.

Agreed, JunkJunk. We’ve had a Bush recovery since January 20, 2009.

  • CaptainAmerica

Thats right Jim, Bush was blamed for the Clinton recession and of course blamed for the Democrats caving in the economy. Even Clinton admitted that Democrats kept Republicans from changing the rules. The whole meltdown was because of the Democrats, but the media doesn’t like pointing reality out.

Just remember folks… when it’s talking about something BAD, it’s acceptable to say, “Obama has only been in office XYZ days” and then blame Bush. If its talk about something GOOD, however, Obama has been in control since day one, and everything is a result of his glorious presence.

Some would call it glaring hypocrisy… but nobody’s surprised by that anymore.

(PS- Where were all you “Obama from day one” folks when Sen. Burris was blaming Bush for the reason why America didn’t get the Olympics? Hmmmm?)

  • Nachi

The angry, frothing Little People here are at it again! And forever. Vomiting forth their evangelical genes which place them in a constant state of hatred and bitterness. NRA/NASCAR/KKK – you go, guys!!

Missing-Link BushDrunk did indeed save the economy. It is there for all to see. And in his spare time, he lit a fuse that set a fire throughout the Middle East, then bloodied the entire world economy. Can’t say enough about…The Absent Aviator.” “Mishuns complished!” Yup.

  • ImNotBlue

There’s only one truly angry person on this site, Nachi… and I’m affraid it’s you. Every post is the same… insults, attacks, no facts, no comment on the subject… just nastiness and arrogance. Why are you so angry?
