Julianne Moore Will Play Sarah Palin In Game Change

Here’s an interesting little bit of casting news: Julianne Moore, who recently gave a Golden Globe-nominated turn as a lesbian mom in The Kids are All Right, is set to play Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO movie Game Change.

The movie is based on Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a LifetimeMark Halperin and John Heilemann’s book about the 2008 presidential election, when Palin quickly became one of the most talked-about women in the United States after being tapped as John McCain‘s running mate.

It’s an interesting casting choice, given Moore doesn’t quite look like the former Governor, but we’re interested to see what she does with the role (and whether she’ll be able master Palin’s distinctive accent).

Do you agree with the choice? If not, whom would you have liked to see play Palin instead? (First person to say “Tina Fey” gets to be dropped from a helicopter, directly onto an Alaskan moose.)

    Tina Fey! =p

Seriously, was Fey not available or flat out refused the role?

John Goodman didn’t look like Babe Ruth, but he made us believe.

  • Harry Flashman

Good choice. She’s a talented actor who would play the role honestly.

  • THE REAL ROYAL KING

She’s too attractive and not vacuous enough. If Paris Hilton porked up and bought a cheap wig and a pair of glasses, she’d b e much more believable.

  • Who is Salacious Crumb

    Glenn Close for Hillary

    Richard Dreyfuss for McCain

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson for Obama (Johnson is known as one of pro wrestling’s great orators)

    Rob Lowe as John Edwards

    @ Royal

Classy and respectful as ever, Royal. I assume you’ll be even more “you-ish” when they announce the casting of her children. We know how few anger you more than the Palin children… and it’s always nice to see an old man attack teens and children.

Moore’s alright, I suppose. Can’t think of any reasons why she shouldn’t play Palin. But just a “meh.” casting job.

POOR RRK, his bedpan is full. He is so sad that the American people don’t like the way Obama is running things.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Wednesday the proportion of people who believe the United States is on the wrong track rose seven points to 64 percent from February, in a fresh challenge to President Barack Obama.
It was the highest number of people in an Ipsos poll who think the country on the wrong track since Obama took office in January 2009. The survey comes as many indicators show an improving U.S. economy.

I assume Pamela Sue Anderson will be playing Brisket, Lindsey Lohan, Oak and Jamie Lynn Spears, Cessna. A wonderful cast. Hugh Grant as the First Dude, and Greta O’Van Sustern, the Fatal Attractionesque stalker of Todd, in other words, herself. Kasper the Firendly Ghost as Gym? Hume Cronyn as Gramps McCain? Denzel Washington as President Obama?

Which has what to do with Walker’s and the Republican senators’ plummeting ratings and rising disapprovals and the huge uptick in support for hard-working American men and women trying to support their families and themselves. Sorry, Marceaux, I mean Blower. Try to divert. I shan’t allow it.

  • The Lantern of Truth

RRKING , again . I can also play Joy Behar or Barbara Mikulski if they show up in the movie . I get mistaken for Joy all the time !

I realize now, for all your bluster against Palin and her family, it really just boils down to “Hey you kids, get off my lawn!”

On the positive side, we really can’t blame you for your abusive stance towards women and children. You’re just a product of your age group. “Darn those uppity women folk, thinking they can make decisions on their own. Don’t they know they need men like me to tell them what to think?” Royal says between the lines.

    S’okay, Royal… I get it.

    Hahahahaha

Obama’s really shaking in his boots over the 2012 elections if this is happening.

I honestly love it when people like Heilemann and Halperin use Palin’s name time and time again to make money. I guess Palin really is creating tons of jobs. Now hopefully those actors and production unions who work on this project will send Palin a Thank You note for getting them a job.

I think any parent who puts their kids ‘out there’ is asking for it. That’s why I go to school plays and yell ‘You stink! Get off the stage!” Even made one seven year old run away in tears. Sometimes I bring baskets of vegetables to throw at them. That’s what they get for being ‘out there.’

Libs, you got to stop thinking of Democrat women; you have to cast an attractive woman to play SP.

Edgar Winter is in talks to play Chris Matthews. Danny Trejo will play Olbermann.

Great news! They’ve signed Ru Paul to play Robert Stephenson.

You don’t find Julianne Moore attractive??

IMHO, Moore is one of the hottest actresses out there, even moreso than many of those younger actresses.

Two thoughts on this entire project.

First, the Lame Stream Media as well as their bed-wetting Marxist comrades in Hollyweird continue to chant the Leftist mantra that Gov. Palin is a washed-up, irrelevant, has-been, who should be ignored. Doesn’t it seem odd that they can’t bring themselves to leave her alone? Even to the point of making a cottage-industry of attacking her children? In my 60+ years of observing political events in this country, I cannot recall another politician whose children have been targeted, repeatedly and viscously, by the hate-filled rants of “entertainers”. Everyone should ignore the woman, but the Hollyweird Propaganda Factory is going to spend millions of dollars to make a film about this washed-up, irrelevant, has-been. Then they’ll encourage people to pay to see it. The election was over almost two and a half years ago, but the Leftists still hate this woman and continue their attacks. They can’t stop their hate nor their lies.

Second, Ms. Moore will NOT be portraying Gov. Palin. Ms. Moore will be portraying Tina Fey’s caricature of Gov. Palin. That is, after all, what Leftists want to see. And it’s SO important to the Left to continue to smear this washed-up, irrelevant, has-been. Because she’s so… irrelevant.

Pay freeze without price freeze is attack on the poor and needy. Look what it did to Egypt and Libya. After attacking wages of main street these same Wisconsin Political figures could gain clout and respect if they are honest enough to attack the earnings and benefits of Political Management and then the earnings of; or should I say the Loot of Wall Street gamblers that are truly bringing down our country, otherwise they will look like a bunch of gangsters themselves doing their greedy deeds. We must remember when Osama bin Laden went to college in American, he immediately went back home and planed an attack on Wall Street not just
American as some think, it was directed at WALL STREET when he did the basement before he went for the top of those towers. Wall Street is like some bad kids in our family and they need butt kicked big time, otherwise picking on the working class amounts to additional gangster-ism.
