Shep Smith Is Utterly Disgusted With The Backpedaling Of BP CEO Tony Hayward
At some point the cable stars will align and Shep Smith will come face-to-face with BP CEO Tony Hayward, preferably on live TV. In the meantime, Shep was predictably disgusted with Hayward for this weekend’s remark that “he wanted his life back.”
Hayward has stuck his foot in his mouth many, many times since the spill began, but this particular statement apparently really struck a chord with folks on the Gulf…does he remember that 11 people were killed on this rig? Does he remember that? You want your life back, really Tony Hayward? WOW. You talk about completely tone deaf…Today, by the way three days later, Tony Hayward released this statement [of apology]. Tony Hayward, backpedaling. There’s a lot more he could backpedal on, but we’ll leave it out for the moment.
