SNL: Betty White Is Bluffin’ With Her Muffin

video

“If there’s one thing I’m known for, it’s my muffin.” So did Betty White introduce her delicacy on “Delicious Dish,” the classic SNL NPR-spoof pioneered by Ana Gasteyer, and best known for featuring Alec Baldwin‘s Schwetty Balls. If that offends you then you won’t watch to watch this sketch, featuring about as many muffin jokes as possible to cram into one sketch: “Wow. Get a whiff of that.” “I can’t wait to taste your muffin.” “My muffin hasn’t had a cherry since 1939.” Shout-outs to yeast, moistness, warmth, and the 88-year-old host’s “dusty muffin.” Yes, they go there.

There’s more. Watch it once to crack up at the punchlines, and again to marvel at the absolute professionalism demonstrated by Gasteyer, White and fellow SNL alum Molly Shannon — their muffin-bluffin’ is perfect. A tasty dish indeed. See below.

This skit, like the rest of the show was awful. Not even enthusiastically awful…just lame tired predictable stupid awful.

It is sad Betty went with the crude foul mouthed sketches that the left-wing nitwits wrote for her.

gordonbloyershow, can’t you park the partisanship for crying out loud? This was a comedy show and you obviously haven’t watched much of Betty White. This is her schtick, the sweet-looking old lady who says something outrageous. She does this on all her appearances.

Wow, Gordon. You never cease to amaze me with your extreme far right-wing schtick. I thought that this was the funniest SNL episode I’ve ever seen and proves once again that Betty White is a national treasure and is one million times cooler than these right-wingers, like Gordon Blowhard, who patrol their “morality” around like they are better than everyone else.

I watched with my grandparents who are devoted Christian Republicans…and they laughed their asses off.

I watched it and yeah this show is still pretty predictable. They need new or old or whatever writers, this stuff is just stale.
That said, a pro like Betty did bring things up a notch. They should have brought some of the cast from the old MTM show to co-host. A skit with Betty & Ed Asner would have brought the house down.
Next season instead of having a bunch of hosts that nobody can remember a month later, maybe SNL can mix in some old pros.
    Can’t hurt.
