Watch New Footage of Christopher Plummer in All The Money In The World After Replacing Kevin Spacey

A new TV spot of Ridley Scott‘s upcoming film All The Money In The World features Christopher Plummer after he replaced the film’s original star Kevin Spacey just weeks ago.

In the wake of the allegations of sexual misconduct and pedophilia, it was announced earlier this month that Spacey would be cut out of the film and would be replaced by Plummer. But what really shocked the film industry was that Sony intended to keep its December 22 release date instead of postponing its release. And judging from the new commercial, it appears that Scott, Plummer, and the studio defied all odds and will meet its original release date with a finished film.

The film is a historical drama about the 1973 abduction of John Paul Getty III. Spacey was originally cast to play oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, who refused to pay the ransom demanded by his grandson’s kidnappers. Now the role belongs to Plummer, which was reportedly Scott’s top choice to begin with but the studio urged him to cast a more high-profile actor.

All The Money In The World also features Michelle Williams, Mark Wahlberg, and Timothy Hutton.

Spacey was one of several public figures who have been outed for their inappropriate behavior after the downfall of disgraced film mogul Harvey Weinstein. The Oscar-winning actor was first accused by Anthony Rapp of making sexual advances when he was 14 years old. That was followed by other allegations of child molestation as well as sexual harassment and assault.

He was also fired from Netflix and will no longer be starring on House of Cards, which is currently in an extended hiatus but is scheduled to resume production without him.
