MTG Goes Off on Chris Wray Not Treating Anti-Israel Protesters Like J6ers: ‘We Had Terrorists in Our Own Office Building’

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene went after FBI Director Chris Wray by railing against the supposed double standard between January 6 Capitol rioters and those who protested Israel at the U.S. Capitol last month.

In the House Homeland Security Committee’s hearing on Wednesday, Greene used her time to once again threaten Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas with impeachment despite the recent failure of her last attempt to make that happen. After that, Greene cast her sights on Wray by holding up a picture of a text message from one of the organizers of Jewish Voice For Peace, the radical group that protested for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas at the Cannon House Office building.

GREENE: Mr. Wray, do you remember on October 18th when the Capitol complex was illegally occupied, breaking the same laws that you have hunted down Americans for from January 6th. Are you familiar with this?

WRAY: I don’t recognize the picture you’re holding.

GREENE: Well, because maybe your agents haven’t been doing a good job in investigating the organizers that broke the law, illegally occupied this very building that we’re sitting in right now, and over 300 of them were arrested. Some of them attacked police officers.

I haven’t seen on the news where the FBI is hunting them down with helicopters, tanks in the streets, raiding their homes with flashbangs, targeting these people, watching these people, throwing them in jail for them to stay in pretrial, in solitary confinement for years before they ever face trial.

Greene has a well-established pattern of downplaying the January 6th riot while claiming those who’ve been arrested for their involvement in the unrest are being held as “political prisoners.” She has also run with the intellectually dishonest attempts to portray the Jewish Voice For Peace protest as an “insurrection” akin to the attempted overthrow of the 2020 election.

As Greene and Wray continued to lock horns over the FBI’s focus and methodology, she complained that Wray hadn’t seen the images she was holding up after she previously posted them on X (formerly Twitter). That led to this exchange:

WRAY: I don’t spend a lot of time on Twitter.

GREENE: Oh, I’m sure you do, because the Department of Homeland Security, organized with other offices, has censored many Americans, including myself.

WRAY: I’m not part of the Department of Homeland Security.

GREENE: Right. Mr. Wray, you should be should be interested in investigating terrorism. And this right here is proof that we had terrorists and our own office building.
