Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was ridiculed on Wednesday after he claimed President Donald Trump had “aroused the American people.”
“Donald Trump, with his cruel policy, has aroused the American people,” said Schumer on Wednesday in response to Trump’s short-lived government spending freeze. “People are aroused. I haven’t seen people so aroused in a very, very long time.”
Schumer was bombarded with ridicule over the remarks, including on Fox News, where his arousal received reactions on three shows.
“Laura, there’s a reoccurring theme here with Schumer. Every time he talks about Donald Trump, he’s aroused,” mocked Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo on The Ingraham Angle.
Arroyo then proceeded to play a clip from Schumer’s 2021 Senate floor speech, during which he accidentally said that Trump had incited an “erection– insurrection against the United States.”
On The Five, co-host Greg Gutfeld also ridiculed Schumer’s remarks.
“I’m still thinking about Chuck Schumer being aroused,” he said. “Don’t point that thing at me, Chuck. It’s so disgusting! He’s a disgusting– We don’t need to know about how you feel, you weirdo. Get out of my head!”
