Dan Abrams tore into Fox News host Will Cain for using the death of Colin Powell to push vaccine skepticism on the network, in particular asking questions under the guise of “journalism” when the answers are so readily available.

In his latest “Mediaite Moments” segment, the Mediaite founder and host of NewsNation’s Dan Abrams Live lamented the “depressing and predictable” politicization of Powell’s passing from Covid complications.

Abrams correctly pointed out that even though Powell was fully vaccinated when he died, the former Secretary of State suffered from multiple health conditions that weakened his immune system. He then noted that “just minutes after the news [of Powell’s death] broke” Cain was on Fox & Friends saying “there also be conversations about the fact he was fully vaccinated.”

“Conversations about what?” Abrams asked “The fact that an 84-year-old man who was immunocompromised can still die from Covid despite being vaccinated? That’s not surprising.”

Abrams said Cain might’ve had the benefit of the doubt at first for not knowing about Powell’s health complications in his initial comments. That excuse was gone, however, by the time Cain went on air 12 hours later and “pretended to have questions” about vaccine efficacy.

Abrams sarcastically reacted to Cain’s questions by pointing out that the CDC already answered many of them on their FAQ page

. He also reported that Powell’s assistant told the media that he was supposed to get a booster shot, but that got sidetracked when Powell fell ill.

“Is asking someone to just spend a minute to look it up too much to ask?” Abrams wondered. Then after playing a clip of Cain saying he is not promoting vaccine hesitancy and anyone who says as much is lying, and will “edit this portion out.”

“The world isn’t out to get you, Will,” Abrams replied. “But they may ask you just to do a little homework. Just a little at first.”

Abrams concluded by commenting that at least Tucker Carlson was “intellectually honest” as he blatantly pushed vaccine hesitancy on his show.
